Clifton-— Parts of three streets near Main Avenue were closed Monday as oil spread for several blocks after spilling from an above-ground tank that apparently fell over at an auto repair shop, authorities said.

The oil came from a tank at JC Auto, located at a Delta gas station at Main and Union Avenues, Deputy Chief Kevin McCarthy of the city fire department said. Firefighters were notified about the spill at 9 a.m. when a resident called to complain about oil in the street, he said.
