NorthJersey.com: The star visitors from up north
That's the star power of these occasional visitors from the north. When either of these birds is sighted in North Jersey — every few years or so — they draw bird-watchers from all over the Middle Atlantic states. Birders will wait for hours in hopes of a glimpse of either bird, and even non-birders will go out of their way for a look at a snowy owl.

This snowy owl was seen in Lyndhurst four years ago.
