We saw this Peregrine Falcon perched below a Hackensack River bridge last week but saw no sign of a nesting area in this location.

Three weeks ago in “Focus on the Meadowlands,” we featured a photo of a fuzzy young Red-tail in a nest by the river. Here it is, three weeks later. Growing up fast.

Harrier Meadow in North Arlington is teeming with rabbits – to the point we’re calling it “Hare”-ier Meadow.

Jim Wright maintains the N.J. Meadowlands Commission’s nature blog www.meadowblog.net. He also writes, photographs, and does slide shows and nature walks for the commission. “Focus on the Meadowlands” features some of his recent photos of the area’s natural wonders.
