After months of recuperating from life-threatening wounds, 27 Washington Township residents finally returned home on Thursday.

Resident turtles, that is.

The reptiles, who were released back into Grenloch Lake Thursday afternoon, had been rehabilitating at Tri-State Bird and Wildlife Rescue in Delaware after a Jan. 12 oil spill into the lake and surrounding waterways left them in need of intensive care.
