Beverly Lujbli, West Milford’s animal control officer, says bears are the concern of the state, specifically the Fish and Wildlife Division. It’s a problem that localities are not equipped to handle.

"Right now, it’s been pretty quiet with bear sightings, but that will change as the spring moves forward," said Lujbli.
