Asbury Park Press: ASMFC sets dogfish quota

If there’s one species that frustrates anglers more than any other, it’s the spiny dogfish. They are seemingly everywhere, and no fish can ruin a good time on the water as much as they can.


Fishermen have long been calling for better management of spiny dogfish. Recreational boat captains have argued in the past that overprotecting spiny dogfish has led to a burst in their population and an unbalance with other fish they share the water with.
