As of Tues. Nov. 15, residents are not allowed to put fertilizer on their lawns until March 1 under the state’s new fertilizer law, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection.

Commercial applicators of fertilizer have until December 1 to finish their “customer service cycle of late Fall fertilization” and then cannot put fertilizers on lawns until March 1, according to the DEP.
