Press of Atlantic City: Taxpayers call for Green Acres program in Cape May County to leverage tax revenue

Cape May County taxpayers are losing open space to other parts of New Jersey because freeholders do not want to deal with state bureaucracy, an environmental group says.

Freeholders are being urged by the American Littoral Society to reconsider their policy of shunning the state Green Acres program. Cape May and Cumberland are the only counties in New Jersey that have not applied in recent years for state open-space money.
