Daily Record: Make your yard a wildlife haven

All winter long, local wildlife depend on food, water and cover in order to survive. Even a small backyard can provide all these elements. Birds can find food in a bird feeder or a patch of annual and perennial flowers left standing all winter. Water can be supplied from a bird bath or a small water feature that has fresh water added regularly. Cover can be the same standing flower bed or a Christmas tree left near the food and water after it is removed from the house. Simple small habitat projects can make your yard a wildlife haven this winter.
