Wolf-coyote hybrids were revealed by the new book "Wild New Jersey: Nature Adventures in the Garden State" to be present in New Jersey and across New England thanks to the pioneering studies of scientist Jon Way.  But wolf-dog hybrids are now gaining attention in Maine.

Wolf hybrids, animals that are a cross between wolves and dogs, will vanish from Maine over time if a new state law works as designed.
