Asbury Park Press: Giant tortoise, friends get a permanent home at the Popcorn Park Zoo

Big Black Jack has a new home at last. Popcorn Park Zoo will remain the abode of the 320-pound Aldabra tortoise and three smaller Aldabra tortoises, all taken from a Highlands resident in September.

On Friday, John Bergmann, general manager of the zoo, said the reptiles are doing fine, and was thrilled they will be staying at the zoo.

“It is great to know everything worked out, and everyone’s mind can be put at ease,” he said.
