Asbury Park Press: Groups organize to clean up Barnegat Bay watershed

John Murray and his high school classmates battled wind and rain Wednesday as they cleaned up the area off Stafford Avenue. The group could not believe what they discovered rotting in the marsh.

“I never thought I would find a bike,’’ said Murray, a 17-year-old junior at the Ocean County Vocational School’s Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science. “Why would anyone have a bike out here? It’s been here a long time, it’s all rusted and has barnacles all over it.’’
