For the Times: Fall Trout Stocking is set to begin Tuesday

The annual fall stocking will begin Tuesday, Oct. 11. One thing is for sure: there won’t be any worries about a drought or low-water conditions. With 25-plus inches of rain in the last two months, fall trout fishermen will be battling-high water conditions.

There are no major changes in the waters being stocked and only minor adjustments in the number of fish being stocked, mainly due to lost access on a couple of streams. The state will stock 20,000 two-year old brook, brown and rainbow trout, averaging 14-17 inches.
