Press of Atlantic City: Egg Harbor City fisherman catches alligator at Hamilton Game Preserve

Jesse E. Deeney has caught a lot of things while fishing, but he sure reeled in a surprise Sunday morning.

Township police said Deeney landed a 3½-foot alligator that became ensnared in his fishing line while he fished in the Hamilton Game Preserve on New York Avenue. The reptile was turned over to state officials at the scene, and neither man nor beast was injured in the process.
