Sussex County will launch its annual aerial attack later this summer on mosquitoes at the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge in an effort to stem further infestation of the pesky biting bugs, according to the county’s top health officer.

When weather conditions permit, the agency’s staff will spray several sites at the refuge, which includes more than 5,000 acres in parts of Vernon, Wantage and Warwick, N.Y., said Herb Yardley, administrator/health officer of the county Department of Environmental and Public Health Services.
