WNJ Exclusive: Seals enjoyed spring in Raritan Bay

Photos courtesy of Tom Oates

Harbor seals are the most common among our four species of seals that visit New Jersey in winter and early spring.  Tom "Toasted" Oates, captain of the Cutter Barbara Ann, submitted these photos of two harbor seals lounging around the Lockwood Boat Works on Cheesequake Creek in South Amboy.

The photos were all taken in April.  Oates previously submitted a photo of a yellow-crowned night-heron taken at the same location.  This story is the second installment of a Wild New Jersey series of nautical wildlife photos taken in the Raritan Bay region of New Jersey.
