The Times: NJ announces $28M deal to preserve 2,000 acres of open space

New Jersey will spend $28 million to preserve nearly 2,000 acres of farmland and wildlife habitat spanning Mercer, Monmouth and Burlington counties will be preserved as open space, state and local officials announced this morning.

Bob Martin, the commissioner of the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) called the land acquisition a fitting way to kick off the start of Earth Week.
