My trip started at Lake Nakuru National Park in Kenya on January 31, 2001.  The park is renowned as having the most fabulous bird spectacles in the world.  The lodges in Kenya were all first class with great food and accommodations.  The 12 hour game drives were long and hard, but very exciting.  We never knew what we were going to see next.

The game drives around the lake were like a menagerie of wild animals.  They were everywhere to be seen.

Next we went to Masai Mara Game Reserve.  Year round, the Mara plains are home to the Big Five and a photographer’s paradise when it comes the the Big Cats.

Stay tuned for Part 2!
