Asbury Park Press: Opinion - Humane Society bear hunt survey seems fishy

A new bear survey should awaken interest about anti-hunting polls and our snoozing New Jersey bruins. The Humane Society of the United States poll about bear hunting in Nevada is like an alarm clock heard all the way to the Garden State.
The anti-hunting organization last April 16 claimed 45 percent of the Garden State's voters opposed bear hunting, plus, "Voters also strongly agree, by 74 to 20 percent, that the state should prioritize non-lethal methods of solving conflicts between bears and people."
A Jan. 7 Humane Society news release said Mason-Dixon found Nevada voters strongly opposed bear hunting with dogs and while cubs were nursing in the spring, and "Voters strongly agree, by 74 to 20 percent, that the state should prioritize non-lethal methods of solving conflicts between people and bears." What a coincidence, 74-20, same as its New Jersey numbers!
