NJ Nature Notes: Red fox is backyard visitor in blizzard

I’ve already told you how much I love snow. The clearing of it…well, I can give that to someone else (I wish). And driving is no picnic as most people in our area really don’t know how to deal with a snowy road. But as with any aspect of life, there are bonuses…if you look. I mentioned yesterday that I hadn’t yet seen any wildlife other than birds. That changed at around 4 PM. The Red Fox sauntered through the meadow behind the house and made an exploratory trip to the backyard. Lots of birds.
