Hans Karlsen - the owner of High Point Cross Country Ski Center in Sussex - said the center opened for business this week. According to Karlsen, a former cross country skiing champion from the Norwegian National Team, New Jerseyans must act quickly to enjoy these conditions while we can.
"By next weekend there is a warm front moving through. We have done a lot of maintenance and repairs to grooming machinery, including the snowcat, and the trails have been brush cut to allow skiing on minimal amounts of snow. Snowmaking is in the plans for next ski season, and for now we have to work in harmony with Mother Nature.

"We will groom for classic and skate skiing and the Monument Trail will be open for snowshoeing. More snow will be needed to open the Steeny Kill Trail. Please check our web page for detailed updates. The forecasters say it’s supposed to stay windy, and the Cedar Swamp Trail will have the best skiing. Thanks to many volunteers helping this fall we can comfortably say we’re ready to offer a great experience cross country skiing and snowshoeing."
High Point Cross Country Ski Center can be reached at 973-702-1222 or via email at hpk@warwick.net.

Thanks for the support. Come on up for a "Natural High".
