Woodlands Wildlife Refuge is a animal rehabilitation facility that takes care of orphaned and injured New Jersey wildlife and prepares them for release back into their natural habitat. WWR is a state certified rehabilitation facility and also is a non-profit 501 (C)(3). Because Woodlands Wildlife Refuge is non-profit it receives no state or federal funding.
This organization was founded in the mid-1980’s by Tracy Leaver, when she took two orphaned raccoons in and rehabilitated them back to health. Tracy Leaver is a state licensed animal rehabilitator and the founder and director of Woodlands Wildlife Refuge. WWR takes care of hundreds of animals a year, making sure that the animals they take in are cared for until they are healthy enough to be put back in the wild.
