NJ Herald: Bears feast on sunflowers, deplete harvesting

When the sunflowers were in bloom in the Sparta field, dozens of cars would be pulled up along state Route 15 with people snapping pictures of the sea of yellow.

Now that the yellow is gone, the black oil that give the plants theirname is the attraction for a different type of visitor — hungry black bears needing to fatten up for the coming winter.
