Sharks will soon be tracked by monitors from Cape May, New Jersey, to Montauk at the eastern tip of Long Island, New York, thanks to an initiative between Coney Island Aquarium, New York Seascape, and Wildlife Conservation Society.

New York's Coney Island Aquarium is sinking its teeth into a major wildlife restoration project that aims to have city waterways overflowing with sharks.

The New York Seascape initiative to protect local marine habitats will kick off with cutting-edge science to track depleted colonies of sand tiger sharks that come through the area.
