Fort Lee native Linn Pierson began the hawk watch 13 years ago and coordinated the count until her death in 2007. To its credit, the  Palisades Interstate Park Commission has gotten State Line going again with volunteers from local nature centers and Audubon societies through Nov. 7. Wednesday was opening day.
