Todd Menadier, a high school science and sustainable energy teacher at Bloomfield Tech High School in Bloomfield, joined an Earthwatch research team for a 10-day expedition in Wyoming to help scientists understand how the local bird population is affected by land development and climate change. Menadier's educational fellowship was made possible by a grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.

From July 16 to July 24, Menadier joined eight other Earthwatch volunteers from around the world for the "Songbirds of the Rocky Mountains" project. The research team was led by Embere Hall and Dr.Dale Gentry, both researchers with the Teton Science School.
