NJ Wild: Photo spread of sand shark visiting Seaside

From NJ Wild: "I remember shark alerts when we summered at New Jersey’s Normandy Beach.  There was a sound to shark-whistle-warnings by our lifeguards that was never equaled in all our time there.  Those young stewards of the sunbathers and sometime swimmers taught us the difference between shark fins and dolphin fins.  Dolphin fins curve up and down, gently, even lazily, in the waves.  Sharks arrow straight ahead, full of determination, slicing the sea.  I can still see their strong tanned hands re-enacting shark-fin swimming for my 4-and-5-year old little girls."

Honored that you picked up on my sharks of our Shore story for the Princeton Packet, on my nature blog, so close in name to yours, NJ WILD. You might check NJ WILD (use search) for Minks of Princeton, while you're at it. The creatures are wild, thriving despite their waterway's being in a corporate setting. I read every post you send me, with delight and gratitude over your celebration of our wondrous New Jersey.
