Press of Atlantic City: Explorers Club members get immersed in local ecology during a canoe tour of the Pine Barrens

After the second canoe in the group tipped Saturday afternoon, Capt. Joel Fogel stood on a bank of the Wading River and announced that times like these call for a little music. He blew a tune out of a harmonica and danced a jig. Fogel brought a group of nearly 20, many from the Philadelphia area, to the Pine Barrens for a lesson on the local ecology and lore. The event was sponsored by the Philadelphia chapter of the Explorers Club.
