MyCentralJersey.com: NJ mosquito population not so bad so far, despite stormy spring

Mosquitoes breed in standing water. Considering New Jersey was knee-deep after a series of winter storms and then 9 inches of rainfall in March, ripe conditions were present for the blood-thirsty flying pests. But residents already complaining about the state's tax bite have largely escaped mosquito bites thus far in 2010.
