The Record: A great season ahead for viewing butterflies in New Jersey

This spring is turning into a butterfly-watching extravaganza, as many species that winter in New Jersey are emerging far earlier than usual, while a huge migration of red admirals is sweeping up from the south into the state.The butterfly bonanza comes a year after one of the worst butterfly summers in recent memory, when a chilly wet June pushed population rates down significantly.
