WNJ Exclusive: Sea Shepherd's Steve Irwin Ship opens for free tours in New York
Sea Shepherd’s flag ship, the Steve Irwin, made a brief stop in the United States before continuing on to the Mediterranean for the upcoming campaign to defend bluefin tuna populations. After a successful stop in Keasbey, New Jersey sponsored by Bayshore Recycling and Edison Wetlands Association, the Sea Shepherd has journeyed to New York Harbor and docked at Chelsea Pier.
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society invites the public to meet the crew of the Steve Irwin, donate, take a tour of the ship, and show your support for their numerous ocean defense campaigns! This is a unique opportunity and the vessel’s first visit to the U.S. since joining the fleet of Neptune’s Navy.
On Friday, April 30 from 10 AM - 6 PM, visit:
Chelsea Piers - Pier 59
