Get your hiking boots ready. Hidden within the suburban buzz of Deptford Township, Old Pine Farm offers a great escape just minutes away. Host to a variety of animal and plant species, Old Pine Farm provides a healthy and educational haven to all visitors. The greenway is preserved by the Old Pine Farm Natural Land Trust, a group that exists to "care for and keep the land in a natural state," said Carl Ford, retired horticulturist and chairman of the board of trustees. Formed in 1992, the trust purchased the farm with Green Acres Funding from the state. The group works continuously to maintain trails, reduce invasive species and plants and generally preserve wildlife, Ford said.
