The Edison Wetlands Association, WildNewJersey.tv and Rutgers University coordinated a river cleanup event to mark World Water Day, which emphasizes the importance of water quality.
World Water Day is an initiative that grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro where the UN designated March 22 a special day to observe the importance of water.
