The Kids Can crew is back at the Nature Center of Cape May with Kids Can Be Green: Eco Design, Saturday, March 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Nature Center Senior Naturalist Kim Hannum is excited about making boats out of recycled bottles, cans, and of course, duct tape. “The kids love making the boats," Miss Kim exclaims. "We will race them on Cape May Harbor that day, weather permitting.”

Participants will also roast their own ‘smores in solar ovens they make themselves. Other projects will include toys and useful items crafted out of treasures that are other people’s trash. The Nature Center’s Kids Can! Series is designed especially for children ages six to 12. Upcoming sessions include Gardens and Wildlife on April 24 and Creatures of the Deep and Sky on May 15. The program fee is $15, reduced to $10 for NJAS members. Kids Can programs will take place at the nature center, located at 1600 Delaware Ave., in Cape May. Preregistration is strongly encouraged.
