It is time to start thinking about the Pequest Trout Hatchery's Annual Open House. This event focuses on fish and fishing, the environment they need to survive, and the importance of professional wildlife management. It takes a lot of hard work and preparation for this event. NJ Fish and Wildlife is beginning to get a list together of volunteers who would like to help with this big event.

This year, the Open House will be on March 27 and 28, 2010. The event will be held at the Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural Resource Education Center on Rt. 46 in Warren County. They will be open to the public between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. both days. Please respond before Friday, March 12 as to whether or not you would like to volunteer for this event. They are looking for people to help out at the pond, the kiddie trout tank, fish cooking and cleaning, other kids' activities and parking. If you are interested in helping out, call
908-637-4125 Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30 at or email Jessica.Griglak@dep.state.nj.us.
