The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is helping Vineland clean up an invasive Amazonian aquatic plant recently found in the Menantico Creek, a city environmental official said. The parrot feather plant can be costly to clean up. But, if ignored, it can cause severe environmental problems, such as killing aquatic life and flooding irrigation systems.
