APP.com: Pristine LBI tract could join refuge

Since moving into their Dusty Miller Drive home about five years ago, Bob and Patricia Monaco have had their morning cups of coffee while enjoying a view of nature that includes a 73-acre parcel of federal land beyond their bayside backyard. A variety of wildlife, including red fox, shore birds and turtles, inhabit the site in Loveladies, which is primarily wetlands. "This is one of the reasons we bought the property," said Bob Monaco, who also serves as the vice president of the Loveladies Taxpayers Association. "We lived a couple of blocks away, and when this piece of property came up, we loved the view and we decided to move over here."
