The Record: Passaic County deer hunt foes are out in force

More than 100 activists, many holding placards, braved the frigid cold Saturday, demanding that Passaic County cancel Monday’s scheduled deer culling in Rifle Camp Park.The Passaic County Freeholder Board, after years of failing to find other solutions, decided last month on a crossbow hunt to reduce the surging deer population.The county Parks Department aims to reduce the population on Garret Mountain, estimated at 400 to 600.
