For the most part, the only trees that bear green this time of year in Central Jersey are evergreens. Raritan Borough is no exception. But when nature begins to bloom again in the spring, the Somerset County municipality will be a little greener. Thanks to a grant from Borough Environmental Commission secretary Joni Holland and help from many different members of the community, 12 new trees have been planted around the borough — including three at picturesque spots on Thompson and LaGrange streets. Those three were planted on Nov. 7, and Thompson Street residents Jane Tanis and Peggy Wilson could not be more thrilled with the eco-friendly addition to their neighborhood.
