On the eve of shotgun-hunting season at the Cape Island Deer Club, every man becomes a target. “He’s in for the night,” Jack Schellenger muttered, as club veteran Skip Hoffman, 76, reclined in an overstuffed chair Sunday evening. “He looks like an old man.”“No, he doesn’t,” chuckled Lenny Hojnacki, a solidly built biker and painter from Palmyra, Burlington County. “The hell he doesn’t! He is an old man,” shot back Schellenger, sweatshirt-clad and silvery at 72. “You’re a whippersnapper compared to him.”
