From our office in the heart of the Dismal Swamp Conservation Area - "The Diz" - we see an incredible variety of wildlife every week.  We may be surrounded by suburbia, but you'd never know it when you're in The Diz, a 1,240-acre wildlife sanctuary located in Edison, South Plainfield and Metuchen in Central New Jersey.  This entry - spotlighting some of our most common visitors, the egrets and herons who frequent Turtle Pond - launches a weekly look into some of our fascinating wildlife encounters here in the Dismal Swamp.
