Manual tools might be able to save a lot of time. I have 1 acre pond, and was filled with Hyacinth, Lilypads, and Curly leaf. Bought weedrazer and weedraker, and was able to clear my pond in just two days. Was a great weekend project, and now my pond is weed free. So just take a look at these products if you have lake weed problem.
