The NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife will be holding a "Becoming an Outdoors-Woman" (BOW) workshop in Cape May on September 11 - 13, 2009. Although it is geared towards women, it open to anyone who is at least 18 years of age or older who is interested in nature and the outdoors. Participants choose 4 activities from a list of 20 or so classes and then learn about that activity in a hands-on, supportive, non-competitive environment for 3 1/2 hours. Classes that will be offered during this workshop include Beginner Birding, Gardening for Wildlife, Coastal Ecology and an Estuary Ecotour as well as things like orienteering, saltwater fly fishing, clamming and crabbing, archery, geocaching, kayak fishing, and more.

A limited number of scholarships are available for first-time participants, and the registration deadline is August 14th.  Click here for more information about the program.
