Wild New Jersey Exclusive: July 4th weekend at the Jersey Shore offers more than fireworks

The July 4th holiday weekend offered spectacular fireworks shows up and down the Jersey coast, but hidden within the Independence Day revelry was the shore's natural side.  In Manasquan, fireworks brought thousands of viewers to the beach at sunset Friday night, while a gorgeous sunny Saturday brought thousands more sunbathers and swimmers.  Yet a pod of bottlenose dolphins swam up the coast just beyond the jetties only an hour before the fireworks show.  And the jetty areas offered an abundance of marine life - from mussels, clams and barnacles to crabs, minnows and bluefish, with terns, laughing gulls, and sparrows spiraling above.
