Wild New Jersey Exclusive: Bald eagles on a Maurice River Boat Tour

Ospreys were seen throughout the trip, including this one soaring above a tidal flat.

The pontoon boat had no sooner left the Millville dock than the first cry rang out - "Bald eagle straight ahead!" For the next two hours, the sightings continued along the Maurice River, with bald eagles, ospreys, and kingfishers galore. Wild New Jersey's David Wheeler joined Captain David Githens and other passengers on this exciting Bald Eagle tour up a tidal stretch of the Maurice River, designated as a federal "Wild and Scenic River."
Captain Githens's Birding by Boat tours continue aboard 'The Osprey' throughout the spring and summer from Cape May. For more information on these ecotours, visit www.birdingbyboat.com.
