Geology and Natural History of the Raritan River Watershed
Wednesday, January 20, 7 to 9:30 p.m., Duke Farms
Originating in the relatively sparsely populated New Jersey Highlands, the Raritan River flows southward into the flat areas of Hunterdon and Somerset counties. The river’s two main branches join near Duke Farms, the river then proceeds east through some of our major population centers. On its route, the Raritan passes over rocks spanning more than a billion years of geologic history; wildlife and native plants can be found throughout its length. This program is designed for adults; no geology knowledge required. Cost: $15 per person. Space is limited and advance registration is required at www.dukefarms.org or by calling (908) 722-3700. Duke Farms is located at 80 Route 206 South in Hillsborough, approximately 2 miles south of the Somerville traffic circle, enter via Dukes Parkway East.
